today i went out to load my kiln for another glaze fire and i found it completely surrounded by all sorts of junk! shelves, buckets of reclaim, ware boards, empty buckets, my wedging table lol. yes Kyle was working on my studio again... so, i had to clear it all away, put away the tools, then decided to move all my shelves around so i could open the window and get some air flow going in there.

you guessed it, gracie lost another tooth tonight. that thing was so loose she actually pulled it out herself after i tied the string on it. no dramatics like last time. well, not much anyway. she of course wanted to use one of the new tooth fairy boxes and suprise, suprise she chose the gruesome pink one lol. so she stuck her tooth in there and rubberbanded it together to keep the tooth safe.

Well i just threw 4 ginormous (for me) bowls! Wasnt meaning to get them quite this big but oh well. the biggest one in the middle on the bottom shelf got a little floppy so when it firms up a bit ill put it back on the wheel and get that flared rim straightened up a bit. but now i probably wont be able to fit all the green stuff in one kiln load...

what a great day for me so far lol, kylie decided to take a nap this morning and i actually got 14 pieces thrown before she woke up. small pieces yes, but i'll take what i can get. i made 4 ring holders, 8 ramekins, a mug for my 6yo, and my mom suggested a holder for eye glasses so i'm tinkering w/ the idea and made one. who knows if it'll work or not but we'll see. i'm lucky if mine make it off

here's a few pictures of some platters i started yesterday. i like this one alot. just sort of winged it and this is what happened. there's some ball like feet on the bottom that hold it about 1/4" off the table so i can glaze the bottom too. i think i'll go back and put little holes in the feet so it can be hung on the wall easier. i used a textured towel to put a subtle texture on this one. the

my studio is coming along, there are walls now. yes, you can walk through them but that will be fixed soon enough. the electric outlets are next, plus my husband has to run more power over to the corner where the kilns are for the controller i'm getting and also the kiln vent. the broken window has been fixed and we're going to add 2 more windows to the other wall to let in some natural light

i found out last week that my son has been accepted into the local head start program. he'd been put on the wait list because we're over income level, but i guess there's no more kids to fill the slot and he was at the top of the list because of his apraxia and various therapies needed. so starting tomorrow he'll be in 'school' from 8-12 M-Th! plus he'll still be going to preschool M & W 1-3:30.
